Attempted Suicide

by believeinlove87   Sep 21, 2011

-This happened in 2005-

Woke up on an ordinary day,
hearing fighting in my parents room,
as i walk in, the room goes silent,
tears running down my moms face,
carrying a handful of pills,
I stop in my tracks.

Whats going on i say,
looking back & forth between my parents,
my gut feeling telling me something isn't right,
after pure silence,
my mom tells me
"I'm so sorry sweetie, But i can't do this anymore."

She wants to die,
she wants to kill herself is all i can think,
crying so bad i ask her why,
barely able to look at me,
she says she just can't do it anymore,
as i hear ambulances & cops outside the house.

My aunt called 911,
telling them my moms trying to commit suicide,
they can't do anything,
say there's nothing we can do,
back in the house,
i look at my mom,
the most important person in my life,
wants to die,
doesn't wanna breathe anymore.

November 2005,
my mom attempted suicide after we kicked her out,
pronounced legally dead,
the doctors able to revive her lifeless body,
told her you won't live another year if
you don't stop.

Walking into the bedroom seeing my mom
wanting to end her life so badly,
completely tore me apart.

Wow, dear. I'm so sorry to hear that. That's just awful.. Great poem though. The scene and emotion played out in my mind as if I was there with you. That's the best way to describe things that happened to the reader is to make them feel as if they're there with you. And you did that brilliantly.
