    This is really amazing Larry, I so loved the openning line, it was just capturing. I specially liked this verse:
    Looking down from the top
    of a house on the hill
    haunted by your scorn;
    took decades to let go.
    ^^
    its always so hard to let go, sometimes it feels impossible.

    Loved it so much.

    The last line was awe inspiring, we often dwell on the past, the injustices done to us by parental authority. I try to forget the abuse and
    remember that I am strength and courage.
    I loved this piece. It's going in my favorites so I can read it when times seem to be roughest

    My fiance is a fighter, or retired fighter I should say, and this sounds so much like something he tells me when he's tired and emotional beat up with memories. Heartbreaking in a way to think of the story behind this.
