Sixteen

by Yakari Gabriel   Sep 26, 2011

I have never been
a spoiled brat,

I'm not the one
that builds up a tantrum

no,in fact
I have always forgiven the
waiter that brought me cheesecake
even after I repeated that
I wanted apple pie..

Three consecutive times..

you will find me,
doing everything
but insulting
the person that
spilled my coffee on
my brand new shirt.

But today,
Oh god,today!

I yearn for one.
only one,
In the 365 days

twenty-four hours,

oh wait,
minus the eight
I'll spend sleeping..

so yes,
sixteen hours.

only sixteen hours.
of complete genuine happiness.

can I just have sixteen?..
only sixteen hours without
feeling like I have been punched
in the stomach..

sixteen,
only sixteen hours
without thinking of death...
without a knot in my throat

Please,
give me sixteen..
only sixteen
I swear..

sixteen hours of looking
in the mirror and loving
what I see,

sixteen hours,
of acceptance
without second
guessing myself..

without feeling empty,
without wishing
I was aborted..

Just sixteen,
and I will never
make a wish again.

I promise..

Yaki this is a very sad poem, and for the prior chat we had before, it feels like you are stuck and as if you want to rebel and get out of the zone your living in. but let me tell you something, as much as i find your sadness beautiful. and as much as i love this poem and ffind that your talent is really admirable, let me tell you that you have, not only 16 hours, you have 16 thousand way to make a change, 16 years AT LEAST infront of you, all for you to make a change.

you are not a brat no, but dont expect life to bring you the best it the oven nor the best apple one the tree when you actuallly are on the 1st day of the season, you are young, and now its your time to step up see what kind of hours do you want to have, how you want to spend it, and with whome, everything you feel will be something you are responsible for in the 1st place.

seeek, search, and if you dont find, search again, if you fail, screw it do it aagain, if they serve you cheesecake, enjoy it, if they spill the coffeee on the shirt, remember that you can wear something better anytime ;) and we both know wat a shirt stands to represent over here!

you can do anything you want, but 1st you need to check you boots! check you patience, your faith in your self, and your WILL, if you have these then leave your clock aside, and start counting trips, not hours :) You are ending up with a map my dear, not a clock shop.

adores this, as long as you smile after such a sad piece.

    a five
