Smile Feigned

by Kuro   Sep 27, 2011

I can grin and bare;
Hide my empty stare;
Pretend that I care;
But inside I know,
That nothing is there.

What remains inside:
The void of my pride,
The truth that I hide,
Pain of happiness,
Emotion denied.

The memory lane
Leaves euphoric pain,
Then sanity drains
Kindness from my eyes
Another smile feigned.

    This couldn't hurt me more. Very well said. I love your use of Euophoria. The simplicity of you're poem is what makes it so impowering. Well done. Continue to share.
