Last Call

I'm writing you this letter,
A letter you'll never read.
In hopes that when I burn it,
You finally see.
See what you've done to me.

At first it was easy,
Easy, to play this game.
It felt so simple.
Now all I feel is pain.

We had a connection,
A connection deeper then
What it seemed.
Whenever I saw you,
My happiness beamed.

We sang the same song,
Our hearts danced to the beat.
But then you changed the words,
I can't seem to stay on my feet.

He came into your life,
Things turned for the worse.
All I asked was to sing another verse.

I watched as he hurt you,
Made you feel worthless
All the time wishing I could
Make it hurt less.

You asked my opinion,
I gave it to you true.
Not what you wanted to hear.
Swore that he loved you.

Finally you left him,
Saw what was right.
Made the decision
And ended the fight.

Things were back to normal,
How they ought to be.
It was between you and me.

You told me you cared,
Said we would do this.
But then you went back.
What did I miss?

Now it's my chance to
Say how it is.
I can't handle the pain.
This isn't a game.

It's either all of me,
Or none at all.
I'm tired of being your last call.
