Gravity

by Meme   Sep 28, 2011

If I could reach just a bit further
than my finger tips, I would have
reached you. But instead, I just
caved in, pulled myself out, and
walked away.

Still, it always seems that there is
a hidden force that keeps bringing
me back to you, simply pulling me
into your gravity.

For you, and only you, I have set
aside a trail of beliefs, things that
defined who I am. I know we can
never be, but still I can't give up, I
can't surrender to this reality.

Maybe a day would come where I
can stand up for you and me, a day
where I can walk those few steps
that once set us apart.

If I made it through, if I battled the
odds that would exhausted the life in
me, will you be there to hold me when
I am falling ?

The first two stanzas hit home for me!
You expressed the emotions flawlessly. Amazing.

Oh my, this is too much emotions wrapped up in one piece,
while i can see the misery of loving someone you can't be with. i have to tell you that there is no fighting needed to be done. no surrendering either, you just get used it and to be able to do that you must have an astonishing power of will, and that my friend you excel in =-)

    - My favorite stanza, but the whole poem is amazing :)

It flows perfectly, wanting so badly to go back to the way things once were. Asking if you took the step would he be there for you. The love & pain you feel pours out.

    Great Job:)
