She Slowly Whispers

by believeinlove87   Sep 28, 2011

She wipes away the single tear,
as she says goodbye to her mom,
closes the casket,
remembering every detail of her lifeless body,
never wanting to say goodbye,
she slowly whispers
" I'll see you in time, i love you mom."

Walking into the funeral home,
she stops dead in her tracks,
takes a deep breath,
grabs her friends hand saying I'm ready,
walking every step a constant reminder,
of the past three months spent without her mom.

Cold as the Arctic Ocean,
afraid to touch her moms hand,
finally realizing this isn't some cruel joke,
but the cold hard truth,
that she won't fly up laughing
saying got you baby girl,
but forever remain like a statue.

Touching her long red hair,
the only indication that its really her,
turning to her friend,
saying "I can't believe this is happening,"
trying to hold herself together,
she pretends this isn't bothering her,
when deep down inside she doesn't wanna be alive.

She wipes away the single tear,
as she is about to leave the funeral home,
wanting to stay by her moms side,
feels guilty she left her all those months ago,
thought tough love would have worked,
when all it did was tear her apart,
refusing to say goodbye for good,
giving her a kiss on the cheek,
she slowly whispers
" I'll see you in time, i love you mom."
