A treatise on Love

by A lonely soul   Sep 29, 2011

Love is hope
for those who have none
Love is faith
for those who are lost
Love is our savior
when we are down

Love is in our trust
that we give to others
Love is in our smile
when we see others rejoice
Love will always protect
those we love with our heart

Love is in kindness we receive
from those who keep us in their heart
Love is in our appreciation
if we rejoice in their happiness
Love is not self seeking
if we think of others before us

Love is in our farsightedness
when we forgive someone shortsighted
Love will not disappoint
when you reach out and touch someone
Love will never fail
those who are wonderful

Love is in the air
just don't forget to breath
Love is omnipresent
sometimes enveloped in darkness
Love is not self centered
so don't forget to look beyond yourself

Love is still simmering in the corner of your heart
which you thought was already cold
Love will always be in your soul
you just forgot to look there first
Love, if true and deep, will still be there
when everyone else has left

This one is to honor the Love I have received and continue to receive from all of my PnQ friends.

(I truly owe this one to the inspiration from 1 corinthian 13 - divine words that I cannot even think of matching.... so here is the original for all readers to appreciate (regardles of religion.... I am not a Christian, Muslim or Jewish but someone who believes in every religion that has values):

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails. )

Love, Love, love. Yet so many ask the same question, what is love? Your poem explains it better than anything I have read. Well done. 5/5
