I See Straight Through You

by Joseph Boadi   Sep 29, 2011

Hide yourself where ever you please
Underground or under seas
I can still hear the quiver in your words
Flying with a broken wing just like a hurt bird
Underneath that veil
I see a ship with wrecked sail
I see the pretence beneath the shame
And your eyes flooding with intense rain
Am with you when your soul is sold
Replemishing your lantern with fuel in fold
You portray to the world a happy soul
But deep down,l see you not whole
Am with you, when you all alone
Setting you right when you're going wrong
Need not look elsewhere to find me
Mirror on the wall thats where,i would always be

Aww... wow I loved this poem. As I read it, I felt like you were talking to me. I really liked the imagery you created.

I loved the beginning until close to the end the most:

"Hide yourself where ever you please
    Underground or under seas
I can still hear the quiver in your words
Flying with a broken wing just like a hurt bird
    Underneath that veil
I see a ship with wrecked sail
I see the pretence beneath the shame
And your eyes flooding with intense rain
Am with you when your soul is sold
Replemishing your lantern with fuel in fold
You portray to the world a happy soul
But deep down,l see you not whole"

Very deep words and so lovely to read. Well done
