Uplifting Wisdom

by Daniel Milano   Sep 30, 2011

Are you a calm person,
Whose somewhat down to Earth,
Are you fond of cursing,
When your hear something that hurts?

Now picture all your problems,
In one big giant storm,
Above your head in Columbs,
Then the rain starts pouring,

The sky is dark black,
And it's rumbling and flashing,
But do not turn back,
Cause the storm won't be lasting,

Those who give up,
They may never see the Sun,
But if you get up,
And you fight and run,

Then the storm fades away,
And the Sun will emerge,
There is a lot of joy,
And you fly with the birds,

The sun will feel warm,
on your skin as it tingles,
Increasing in warmness,
As the rays linger,

You have hidden worth,
It's really in you to be great,
Someones always got it worse,
So why get bent so out of shape,

Lets talk about Murray,
Her first name's Elisabeth,
Her mother died early,
Aids took her from her kids.

Then her father moved away,
To a homeless shelter,
She was fifteen that day,
With no one to help her.

But did she give up,
Did she stop breathing,
No, she continued up,
With more pushing and some heaving.

Homeless at fifteen,
And had to raise her little sister,
With a Mother that was dead,
And a Dad who didn't miss her,

But she kept trying hard,
With belief the storm would pass,
Now she's graduated Harvard,
At the top of her class.

Never lose hope,
Know the storm will pass,
Let her story be the rope,
Upon which you grasp,

Always move forward,
You control your fates,
Time's not getting slower.
It goes a steady pace,

Believe,Strive, Feel Glad,
You will certainly succeed,
You have more than she had,
What else do you need?

This should be a daily reminder to all of us. It is a shame we tend to look at others who may be doing worse than us to "empower" and motivate us to actually be active in our lives and LIFE!

Thank you for a read champ :)
