My soul mate

by Craig   Oct 3, 2011

As we hold each other close,
something in my chest tingles,
what is this feeling I feel?
Love?
Our souls float towards each other,
as the tiny strands of light touch,
a new surge of power and feelings go through us,
we have found each other my soul mate.
These feelings course through my body,
a new sense of happiness overwhelms me,
as our entwining bodies wrap around each other,
in a tight embrace
I love you,
I found you at last,
you are the one for me,
my soul mate.

I really enjoyed reading this poem because the emotions are really powerful and they seem heartfelt. I like your choice of words; you managed to describe the situation really sincere and the simplicity somehow underlines it very well. The fact that the speaker asks a question at the beginning of the poem and end up answering it himself makes the poem have a specific structure. The only thing I would fault is the flow as it doesn't flow completly smoothly, but it's not that bad.
