The sunshine falling on your face,
Reminds me of old times,
The picture perfect memories,
We're leaving far behind,

But I suppose a goodbye kiss,
Just simply wouldn't do,
For knowing me, and your old ways,
I'd fall right back to you,

I know that simple little smile,
And the sparkle in your eye,
You used to look at me like that,
Before you said goodbye,

Sometimes I sit and reminisce,
I ponder thoughts of you,
Wondering where time has gone,
And what I've left to do,

The calendar has flipped its pages,
Some quick but most days slow,
The passer-bys and faces plenty,
With homes and a place to go,

I often sit and wonder here,
If I will ever be,
The type of person to walk right by,
Another ghost like me,

The sunshine falling on my face,
It makes me look and see,
Today is just another day,
With my pen, notebook, and me.

It's time to kiss your frozen lips,
And put the frame away,
The one upon which your face,
Haunts my every day,

Photographs are meant to keep,
These memories at bay,
But it's hard to forget loving you,
When I see you everyday.

Loved the rhyme in this beautiful little number. It was sad but flowed really great and left me feeling sorry for you. I am sure there are many who can relate to your words.
