Toilet Love....

by Natalie   Oct 4, 2011

Its been two whole days since you said, "goodbye."
Scattered on the bathroom floor I lie; unmoving.
"I'm just not in love with you anymore," you uttered,
Walked away crumbling the pieces of my already broken soul.

The coolness of this bathroom floor is my only consolation,
One single sign that I am alive; a broken heart can still beat.
Time ticks by daring me to persevere through this torture,
But staring up at a toilet seems the only logical form of action.

This toilet reminds me of you and of our relationship.
Like a toilet to any human, you were my necessity.
I came to release my darkest, deepest secrets to you,
Yet you stood proud, unmoving and independent.

Sitting up now, I laugh. You flushed my love away!
Placing one foot steadily on the tiles, I find my ground.
On my two feet, I walk away from this toilet, from you,
Life will continue without you, as man once lived without toilets.
