The Flower

by Carissa   Oct 4, 2011

Helplessness is a wilting flower
brown slowly fills each petal
dehydrated--with no power
uprooted by rusted barbs of metal

separated from a beautiful garden
tossed into a filthy clay pot
never once, it begged a pardon
for permission to have it rot

put into this barren gravel
roots seeking one last try
too delicate for this travel
gradually began to die

*This poem is actually written about a turning point in my life. At the time I thought it was the end...only to realize now it was a new begginning. Funny how Time changes your perspective*
