That lonely feeling

You know that feeling,
when you are surrounded by a crowd
and yet
you are completely,
and painfully,
alone?
Move your eyes off the floor
just for a moment,
and find that person,
three people to the left
and seven behind you,
not ten feet away.
That is me.
I have been watching you.
And I,
I know that lonely feeling
too.
Alone.
I feel it right now,
amidst this crowd we stand in.
Come,
stand by me,
and
we can be alone
together.
Then maybe,
just maybe,
through this mutual understanding,
this new connection,
we might not be so lonely,
anymore.
