An antithesis to sadness

by A lonely soul   Oct 5, 2011

If I could go back in time
and change that river's course
so that it would flow
where I want it to go
to that land of unlimited imagination
and away from my abomination

It would be lessons worth learning
from my follies and mistakes
that I no longer have to partake
or carry them with me to my grave

Annotation: The inspiration to these lines came directly from a sad and very touching poem written by a club leader and a very brave woman you will recognize here

I hope these few lines help. Life is too precious.

Why haven't my club manager seen this?

    She must read it.

I always want to go back in time.. I really do. I wish I could do that.

Just using the current of the river in this place makes you poem alive, and moving :)

Well, thank you all for you kind comments on these few simple lines that I originally penned in Jan this year to lift someone's (not a PnQ meber) spirits up (may seemlike mine, but not really) from the melancholic thoughts that I read on her blogsite. I hope it worked for that someone special. I did not ever intend to publish this one, but a recent sad winning poem recently reminded me that others in this world could also use these thoughts. We all carry the power of motivation within ourself to survive near drowning experiences, we just need how to use it, or perhaps have someone show us how to, when spirits are down.
