You said you loved me...

by Matthew Schut   Oct 7, 2011

A pocket full of rocks
An eye full of tears
What happened to life
It seems like wasted years

I remember like it was yesterday
You would text me all the time
Telling me how much you loved me
And saying how you thought I was so fine

Sending me candy just to spoil me
A simple note in my mailbox
You would even help with my laundry
And was comfortable around my dirty socks

You always held me so close
And said you would never let go
Not ever wanting to leave each other
Your passion for me would always show

Always wanting to hold my hand
And putting your hand in my back pocket
We would walk around smiling together
And you would always wear my heart locket

I gave you the necklace on Christmas
And told you I would always be there
If you ever doubted my love for you
Just look inside, you would see the perfect pair

But after a few years,
I couldn't make you stay
How can you say you love me
If you chose to walk away...

Yet again you have story and emotion nailed. Though I do believe that your word choice could be a lot stronger. The flow is there, but its quite faint. although there are a few minor corks, I am still mesmerized by this piece. Fantastic job!
