It Doesn't Persist

by Meena Krish   Oct 7, 2011

Frustration ruptures and leaks without care
wild screams rage under the cover of night.
Greed of darkness consumes this heart,
and peace departs, peace departs.

Masquerading eyes refuse room for tears
no more does it produce comfort to keep.
Wounded memories, begin to take control,
this turbulent soul, turbulent soul.

Pen and paper erases the overbearing pain
lifting the weight off unwanted thoughts.
Just for a while a little smile comes to visit,
but it doesn't persist it doesn't persist.

Wow! What a powerful write you penned. I know this feeling so well. In a poetic moment we can lay all weight and burdens aside while the pen sets us free to dream. And yes reality is brief in fleeing but at least it does flee for a time. The releaf is worth the trouble to pen the pain. A beautiful poem :-)

^Frustration ruptures and leaks without care
wild screams rage under the cover of night.
Greed of darkness consumes this heart,
    and peace departs, peace departs.

----I love this stanza. I enjoyed the repetition of peace departs, peace departs.
It just makes an emphasis and it pretty much summarizes the whole thing.

Masquerading eyes refuse room for tears
no more does it produce comfort to keep.
Wounded memories, begin to take control,
    this turbulent soul, turbulent soul.

--- Trying to pretend, doesn't help anymore. Everything accumulates and at some point there is no more room for it to hold it together and it just comes out; it explodes.

Pen and paper erases the overbearing pain
lifting the weight off unwanted thoughts.
Just for a while a little smile comes to visit,
but it doesn't persist it doesn't persist.

--- Writing out really does help, allot. But sometimes we just have to find that one thing that is making us feel so bad. And find a solution that way we can find peace.

    I like it. very good.

I'd pick a favorite stanza but I'm amazed by this entire piece. One often seeks solace and finds none. But seldom we find an activity that channels our despair such, that we find momentary rest.

    Beautifully penned.
