I Color These Letters

by Anonymous Me   Oct 7, 2011

I color these letters
In fragrances of roses,
And spray them with smells
Of the colors green and yellow.

Wondering if you will understand
That they are like my socks -
Mismatched and well worn
And running with my feet.

Can you imagine it now?

The words dancing in your head
Leaving little letter prints
That create poems like this.

Nonsense that makes sense
In a weird way or two,
But seems like nothing,
But jumble jamble of words -
Strung into sentences
That have no meaning.

Yet they do.

I glue these words together
And add some big ol' feathers;
My mask of ingeniousness,
For a Halloween Ball,
Or maybe to hide my identity
From the world I live in.
Or maybe to create a new world,
Where I can belong.

And I will continue to color these letters
In fragrances of roses,
And spray them with smells
Of the colors green and yellow.

Because like my socks
They will always be mismatched
And well worn.
