A Courageous Facade

by Fulcrous   Oct 10, 2011

Every damn day is the same shade of gray;
I keep watching from afar, always wanting to say,
You are my one and only, I can't stop loving you.
'cause it's only when I'm with you the sky shines a bright blue.

Even then I hold myself back and give it some slack,
Because without you the world becomes stale and black.
I'm sorry to say I haven't gotten over you
So why is it that I'm running away from you?

I guess I'm afraid, 'cause no matter what I do
I know this love'll keep coming back like the flu.
I'm still holding on to some desperate hope,
That somewhere, deep inside, we were meant to be.
Like the story of the couple that transformed into a single tree.

But for now I'll stop these feelings that I've felt for you.
I'll stop trying to seize your heart,
'Cause if we put on a courageous facade,
We'd be saying ten other things that we said that we're not.

So before our love becomes too heavy
Let us learn from our weaknesses,
And develop our strengths and...
Even if we part, please remember
We can not live alone and the promise we made that day
Still remains deep inside my heart.

Ooh. This brought my tears to my eyes, because you worded perfectly the words I have wanted to say.
    It's beautiful. :)
