No better poem than this that truly sums up how a lot of us felt at the close of Abby's contest. Man alive it was fun but so hard to come up with poems. How many words must we have all written? I don't even want to know. This was creatively done, one I remember of the slew of poems I read. Nominating it ;)

I can feel the void you're trying to portray.
    It's really obvious, and I like... :)

    Amazing one.

It's really funny because I didn't get the proper meaning of this until reading the above comments. When I first read it, it sounded like a poem describing the aftermath of a social/romantic conflict. The kind that leaves a bitter taste in your mouth.

But now that is not so! Haha, how interesting it is to see that my interpretation was wrong. Although I do still feel that this poem could represent an ordeal like that perfectly.

Regardless, I love the thought put into this. Comparing fatigue to the irritation brought on by poison ivy is surely a clever one. Tossing the image of the pencil in, the pencil that has been made dull by endless writing, was a great idea. I specifically like the ending...it is broad - all encompassing - and yet so specific at the same time!

    Bravo. Wouldn't change a thing! :D

    "...of a thousand infected poems,
    which now hold no meaning."
