Talented

by Yakari Gabriel   Oct 12, 2011

Here I am,
giving use to this so called
"talent"

punching and bruising
my paper with
blue thoughts...

black,
is my soul
whenever I write
for it is only then,
that I touch my insides..

I give birth to pieces,
that hurt like losing a first love..

You might think that
they are nothing
but harmless words,
painted with metaphors
taking a nap
in a dusty notebook..

but to me,
they are bullies.

yes,
my poetry is the bully
that evokes fear in me...

the one that pushes me around,
and throws me against a wall
whenever I want to free myself.

unlike others,
my sorrow can be counted..

one poem at the time.

one poem,
ready to slap me
in the face whenever I want
to deny old pain..

one poem,
standing there..threatening me..
always like a prosecutor,
unafraid to prove me guilty.

Still,
they call me
"talented"

when to me...

this is a curse.

It is a curse indeed, as I can never get off from your "spells". I love this poem, because it shows sadness, anger, and this rebellious character ...
i love that you used some of the very interesting lines and images to express how painful it is, kind of bring up the events that most ppl will relate to, like losin a 1st love, to show how much u mean it.

    i love your work..
    well done
