The Blue Moon

by Innocent Fairy   Oct 13, 2011

The moon hides behind
the darkness of the night,
the stars behind the clouds
fighting for their life,
only gaining battle scars
but always shining bright.

There is a girl,
staring through the night,
finding peace
but it's not the perfect night,
though she feels she belongs
to the night,
to the darkness that surrounds her.

She has to face reality
she has to face the facts
she has to face her feelings
the things she locks inside.
Wanting no one to find
but wanting to be know,
seen, if that's how she feels at all.

She sits in silence
she sits in darkness
helping others is her goal
finding love another
but somehow always pushes away

She has locked herself inside
shut down inside a shell
fearing someone will ruin who she is inside
or she will fall, losing herself,
no she doesn't want it
but she is too kind

Both...
a gift
and a curse.

The moon hides behind
the darkness of the night,
the stars behind the clouds,
and in this darkness comes
belonging and she will survive
and will brightly shine
all through the night.

Sorry, i was looking through your poems, and this one caught my attention.

I loved the stanzas, and how they intertwined, but made sense.
    i loved it!

Awesome!! What a title and what a ending.

    The moon hides behind
    the darkness of the night,
    the stars behind the clouds,
    and in this darkness comes
    belonging and she will survive
    and will brightly shine
    all through the night.

Just the thought that one has resolute determination to outshine the blues (meloncholia reflected as the blue moon) is a beautiful thought in itself!
