Requiem

by SiLeNtLy ScReAmInG   Oct 14, 2011

Songs long since set aside,
With stained-glass lies revealed,
All meaning siphoned off,
Through scars yet left unhealed.

Choruses brought forward once again,
From where they lay locked away,
Reminders given voice,
Through the messages they play.

Melodies reconjuring old memories,
Dangerous as a double-edged sword,
Thoughts balanced on a precipice,
Ambivalence can't afford.

Once masquerading as lullabies,
The lyrics stumbled and fell apart,
Now only yesterday's whisperings,
From the ghost who stole her heart.

Faultless! This was a stunning write. I espically liked the the last line as its now stuck in my head because it was very well worded

    Absolutely beutiful...
"Ambivalence can't afford." seems to throw off the rhythm a bit here.... but aside from that, an absoutely wonderful write.... good job
