Unable To Take My Eyes Off Of You

From a distance, I watch as you talk to your friend,
Smiling at everything she says,
And I feel jealousy well up inside of me,
Because how could you be talking to her?
Then I watch in horror as you,
Wrap your arms around her,
And hold her close.

I suddenly find myself holding back tears,
Wishing I could be,
Anywhere else but here.
Though, unable to take my eyes off of you,
I continue to watch.

You grab her by the chin,
Stare deep into her eyes,
And whisper something into her ear.
She laughs and looks at you with adoration,
And as I feel myself grinding my teeth together,
I am unable to hold back the tears,
Any longer.

I look away just as the tears begin to roll down my cheeks,
I wipe them away angrily while wondering,
How faith could be so cruel.
How I could have loved you with everything I had,
And yet you'd still find it not to be enough.
