Forgotten Memories

by MyaEve   Oct 17, 2011

Remember.

The days
when we laughed
at nothing?

Remember.

The weeks
that rolled by
with passion?

Remember.

The words
that fell off
your tongue?

Meaninglessly.

Remember.

The love
that danced
in the light,

of the forever faithful moon?

You don't remember.

Do you?

I like the innocence that sparks off your youthful words in this poem, the images wander about as lightly as fairy feet. ;)

The last two lines made my heart ache, though. Just the thought of something so precious and vulnerable (childhood experiences) to be forgotten with a snap of the fingers. Reading your poem made me think of the classical "I give you everything but you don't recognise it at all". The thought of remembering so many things you thought were special for you two yet the other person doesn't even remember ... Ah, the poem certainly stirs some of my memories on friendship.
