Have You Ever -

Have you ever thought about how it would feel
To lose the most important person in your life
And did you ever think of how you would deal with that
When there was no one left to say "I love you"
And there was no one left to tell you "goodnight"

Have you ever thought about how it would feel
To accomplish the dreams and goals you always desired
But when you did get there no joy was left in them
Because no one was left to share your happiness with
And there was no one left to say son, I'm proud of you

Have you ever thought about how it would feel
To one day walk down the aisle without your mom or dad
And even though it's so distant you quit believing
It still messes with your head and brings you down
Not because you just miss them and times get hard
But because you know they were suppose to be there
And now they never will

Have you ever thought about how it would feel
To wake one morning and as the sun shines on your face
Know without a shadow of doubt that your life was over
To know that the only thing left was remnants of a better day
A better day when people really did love you
But you didn't care because you couldn't appreciate it

Once they are gone and you have the time to reflect
I think you will see a world that's no longer so perfect
A world where you are humbled and left to question why
What is the point of living my life
When everyone that ever loved me
has died?
