Haunted by Remembrance

by HOLLY ARMER   Oct 20, 2011

Shades of orange and brown
crash into the breeze
Creating a commotion
that brings me to my knees

He left me one cool morning
with not a word or care
My soul a lifeless tree
gnarled, bent, and bare

A heart laid out in pieces
Tears cascading fast
Wrapped in the stillness
hoping the pain won't last

Left alone with nothing
this chill won't go away
Forever haunted by remembrance
of that fateful day

I really liked this piece Holly. I've strayed away from reading rhyming poetry, but this poem didnt' turn me away. I liked the story, and your wording! It wasnt the same old rhymes that you normally read...Lost love is hard, hard to get over, hard to deal with memories, I think you described it well :)

This was a very heartfelt piece. I really felt the emotion in every stanza.
