Truth Always Comes Out

by Jenni Marie   Oct 22, 2011

You were always just out of reach
but..never knowing why
a child,so helpless and innocent
wondering...wondering what she did so wrong

Blackness engulfs thine soul
as misery sows it's seeds
tentacles slither, suffocating thine heart
...drowning, gasping for air.

Poisoned, everything crumbles
buildings topple, debris all that's left
so numb..how could you ever have done what you did?
unaware, unknowing..blissfully ignorant.

but

no longer
can I ignore
the evil you committed

you were my protector, my saviour
so loving, so caring
yet..

all this time,
you were her abuser.

That was so heart-wrenching. The last stanzas painted a frown on my face, I could feel your pain. Very well-written.

I know this is a personal poem, so it's nice to see you putting all your heart into it. Some people in life certainly do surprise you unfortunately in ways you'd never imagine. I'm sure with time this pain and confusion will cease. I wish you all the best, hope things get sorted out soon. I know what you're going through must be a tough pill to swallow. You'll be fine, keep your chin up!

Those last two stanzas really pull this together in a heartbreaking and tragic way. Forgive for you so you don't allow the heartbreak and evil to live rent free in your head. We're all here for you if you need it. Poetry wise, this was incredibly emotional and very strong. ;)
