Frozen

by Brittany C   Oct 25, 2011

Frozen in the past
He stalks the world,
never changing in appearance
but constantly present.

Loneliness is a nightly visitor
He hungers for a companion
or for the end to come near.
But how do you end the life
of one that will never end?

He waits in darkness;
sadness all consuming
never leaving him to rest
and no ray of hope can be seen.

Till that night
she came walking along.
Having tracked his scent
for many nights to find him
because she too was lonely.

    This is simple yet lovely..

The length is fine with me. It is a dark poem. They're usually meant to be obscure and mysterious, and this is just it. The ending is quite happy and I love that about this piece. Dark poetry most of the time, end sadly or tragically, but this showed how their loneliness ceased - by finding each other.

Truly enjoyed this piece. Keep writing,

An interesting right, I liked the ending. Loneliness can be extremely difficult for almost everyone. 5/5

    ^I disagree.

The imagery was serenely penned, and I thought the length was just right.
It ended well with questions lingering, and gave me something to think about.

    I enjoyed this very much

Good imagery but too short to tell the story clearly.
