Rolling in the deep

by Sylvia   Oct 26, 2011

"Baby, I have no story to be told
But I've heard one of you
And I'm gonna make your head burn
Think of me in the depths of your despair
Making a home down there
As mine sure won't be shared"

No more shall this happen, revenge is mine.
Ceridwen, enchantress of the cauldron,
Grab that big black fire pot, place it in a sacred circle,
prepare for the ritual.
Witches cooking up their potions,
no leprechauns hiding their treasure there.

Water added for scrying, divining the future,
ingredients for a spell, symbol of rebirth.
Warring armies bringing dead warriors,
add a dash of nice, a pinch of empathy.

Abracadabra, release the spirit of the warrior
that lies just beneath the surface,
as it bubbles in a cesspool of rage.
Behold, soldiers emerge,
missing souls and the power of speech,
returning to battle only to be killed once more.

"Throw your soul through every open door
Count your blessings to find what you look for
Turn my sorrow into treasured gold
You pay me back in time and reap just what you sow"
"Rolling in the deep."

I really enjoyed this, it was a fun write.

    "Witches cooking up their potions,
no leprechauns hiding their treasure there."

I liked the dark humor. I'm not sure if that's what you were going for but it was good none the less! 5/5

I find this stanza to be the most intriguing. Portrays the obvious, that is creativity. The flow is pretty fluid and the composition as a whole is quite alluring. Splendid job.
