City of Life

by SunnyD95   Oct 27, 2011

The warm, golden sun
Slowly rises
Gently waking
The people of the city
Like a nurturing mother
Wakes her young son.

Birds fly above glistening skyscrapers
In the warm blue sky.
Yellow checkered taxis buzz softly
Like busy bumble bees
Ready to start their day.

Busy streets come to life
Singing and whistling melodious tunes
As small children laugh
And play merrily in the street.

Darkness sets in
The streetlights come on
And so do all the bright city lights.

From far away
If you look close enough
You can see the glow of the lights
Twinkling like stars in the night sky.
