Debris

by Melissa   Oct 30, 2011

I'm afraid I will always be
a piece of debris
sloshing against your safe harbor

but what haunts me the most is
the way you always keep your compassion at bay,
how your arms reach with limp purpose
just barely skimming the surface
of my love,
a rippling reminder that you're there,
but will never gather enough courage
to plunge in
and carry me from the same sea
that held no mercy
for so long

no one should feel this vulnerable

The sea has fascinated so many poets and painters... And surely many of them have worn the sea out in their artworks. But you didnt for thismix of genuine emotion and clever wording truly makes any well-known theme special and thats what i love about your work. I know Im a bit late but i just wanted to congratulate you for a very well-deserved win (despite what some people may think)

LP are you saying Melissa has no flow in the last line? Do you understand what flow actually means?
