    Melissa,

What I enjoy about your poetry is the comparisons, you always managed to take two completely different images that work well together but are opposites and yet you form a connection. While it seems you speak as though two people are completely different you still give that thin string to connect them somehow, just like two people are even when they are separated by some reason, even in hatred, or pain.

The imagery here was different from you, you stepped away from using the sky and stars or flowers and nature but incorporated the sea and harbor and even though this was nature I formed the idea of boats and a jetty which are manmade objects, so the contrast here against nature was interesting, you seemed to step outside your usual and it was lovely written.

"a rippling reminder that you're there,
but will never gather enough courage
    to plunge in
and carry me from the same sea
    that held no mercy
    for so long"

    Beautiful as always.

    A lovely write.
    Mel.

It was so epically written.. and flowing in your waters... until the very last line.. why that :S ?

Amazing write after all... not a single debris.

LP are you saying Melissa has no flow in the last line? Do you understand what flow actually means?

The sea has fascinated so many poets and painters... And surely many of them have worn the sea out in their artworks. But you didnt for thismix of genuine emotion and clever wording truly makes any well-known theme special and thats what i love about your work. I know Im a bit late but i just wanted to congratulate you for a very well-deserved win (despite what some people may think)
