Emperors way, Act 2

(this act changes speed and flow a couple of times, try to keep up, if in doubt, read it quickly then backtrack once you figure out the flow)

Act 2, Kingship Claimed.

So our hero comes to be,
a prince within royal grounds.
For when he married Evaline,
her status he had found.

Her brother marcus loved him not,
as he feared for his throne.
For people loved that septim boy,
and tre't him like their own.

For Tiber had one wish in life,
To banish evil souls
and though he was a lesser prince
A promise he bestowed.

"If ever I should become the king,
I'll do my truthful best
to banish evil from this land
by threat or kind request,

And so the people loved their prince.
and showered him with praise.
And so it was he touched their hearts ,
back in those early days.

But when a darkness swept the land ,
the king he did not see.
The poverty and servitude ,
where once walked people free.

So when the king grew bent with age,
and leaned upon his staff.
Marcus looked at village folk,
and then began to laugh.

He killed the king and took the throne,
the power was rife for taking.
The evil that preceded this,
was marcus's own making.

For darkness cometh rarely here,
unless it first was bidden.
And marcus sent out messages,
although to all were hidden.

He filled his coffers with golden coin,
and rubies of blood red.
The corrupt heart is always twinned,
with malevolence of head.

So fear of marcus had grown within,
the people of the land.
for taking just a loaf of bread,
a man could loose a hand.

And as corruption breeds corruption,
the guards accepted bribes.
So people became, so subtly changed,
with lack of moral guides.

And so it came to be one year,
Eveline had borne a son.
And so marcus felt that his kingship,
may end if naught was done.

So he clapped in irons these lovers and son,
and sentenced them all to burn.
But people felt the time was near,
it would soon be the peoples turn.

So beg the king to save them both.
But he would hear then not.
For he felt his kingship risk'd,
with newborn in the cott.

And so the day dawned grey and dull,
with pire in court-yard.
But the hoard of people brimmed with rage,
and rushed the castle guard.

-so crowds of people torrented in-
-and smashed the throne and smote the king -
-so marcus ends and people found -
-that in the dungeon underground-
-there was a crying baby boy -
-and mother who was overjoyed -
-and tiber septim who they free'd -

'and crowned him their new king

And so he kept his promises,
he purified the land.
And over time he healed the wounds,
for the king had healing hands.

But not all evil was at hand,
to vanquish in those times.

...But thats a tale for another song,
another , different rhyme.

Act 3 to follow...
