The Beast of Nature

What is the nature of the beast?
That we should respect the natural law.
When it seems to have no respect for us.

It gives us youth, beauty, hopes and dreams
Then snatches it all away
And watches us wither and die.

It lets us grow old and weak,
Yet it lets us remember how we once bloomed.

'But that is the nature of the beast!' you tell me.
I say; 'This is the beast of nature'.
