The Angel

by lonelynow   Oct 31, 2011

There is a girl, I feel her
She sits in my heart. She is
So small, and light, but so
Heavy, on every breath
I love her.
She is young, pre-pubescent, and slight
She is mine to protect.
I think I see her in the mirror,
Until I look again
She causes me so much pain
When she is strong;
She gives me so much sadness
When she is weak,
I think she is my angel
If angels, like us, can be monsters
She has no wings, nor guiding light
She is darkness
And I am burning bright, like a star
Already dead.
Are you my angel?
She is silent, I feel her words
Like I used to feel mine
But she will not answer,
Are you my angel?
There is so much sadness inside me,
I am pregnant with it.
I want to draw my angel
But she appears old on the page
Tired, like I am
Are you there, Angel?
Like the remnants of a dream,
When I look at her she disappears
But I can't help but feel that, one day
I will die for her.
