Roll me up in your magic carpet
and take me to the Milky Way.
Show me all the places where, if I was dead, I could stay.
Show me the sun that burnt Icarus's wings,
show me the flag we believe is planted on the moon.
Show me where the ancient gods live,
let me dine with them in luxury,
let me give myself as an oracle for just one day,
let them tell me about the place where soon I'll stay.
And before we depart to the galaxies above,
show me these modern things we know as constellations.
Take me to the planetarium and
let me look them up on a cheaply printed map.
Let me stare into the heart of the sun,
let me sit alone in the shadows of the moon.
Take me up and up and away…
Here is where we part,
and here is where now my new life starts.
