I'm a Journalism Student

by dollwithafrown   Nov 2, 2011

Tomorrow i might wake up and the sky will be blue
but the roads will be tired, sleeping, goodnight
and the paperboy won't cycle across my lawn
and deliver me the information i need to hear

and maybe the war will stop, but will i know?
and what if the earth is ending,
will the scientists tell me so?
what if it's supposed to rain all day long?

and what if that little girl gets the heart
that will save her life and spare her death?
what if Man U win their latest game,
but the fans aren't told - more football fighting?

what if chocolate is good for the soul
and gas prices go on the rise again?
what if there's a 3-year-old genius
who can speak eight languages?

will we all just go to bed tonight
and not care about our fates
our ignorance is our failure
as we hide from what we may or may not find out

but tonight i'll do something different
i'll switch on at 9 o'clock
i want to know; i'm not afraid
and i'll find tomorrow's paper lying at the gate
