Night Shades

by Cinnamonspice   Nov 3, 2011

An aura, the color of honey
glimmers behind tempest clouds
as the sun sinks slowly from view.

The whisper of raven's wings
dispel the invisible air of shadows
as he hunts for his midnight rest.

Day has been relinquished to
the creatures of starless nights,
silent watchers of dreams.

This poem was beautiful! I loved the imagery in this piece from start to end. It was a little short though that is the only downside for me.

    Still good write

I really like how this poem is so rooted in great imagery in the first stanzas; with the setting sun and the raven looking for his "midnight rest". You really close it nicely with the "...silent watchers of dreams." wonderful. you always impress
