Probation

by East Poetry   Nov 3, 2011

Last night I calmly knelt to pray,
to God for more insight.
Pondering upon this simple thing,
"Why must we choose the right?"

But not on things so obvious,
like cheating or stealing from a friend.
But rather on the little things,
that don't hurt others in the end.

Like self indulgence, smoking, drinking,
on matters such as these.
I fervently asked in silent prayer,
for the answer on my knees.

A special person in my life,
who's example I adore,
recommended that I ask the lord,
if I ever wasn't sure.

And so I did, and I can say,
it may have changed my life,
The following day my answer came,
it's point was like a knife.

That morning on my way to work,
I had a prompting in my head.
To listen to a Prophets talk,
and this is what he said.

He said, "We are on PROBATION,
during this fleeting time on earth.
To see what we are made of,
and truly gage our worth.

Where the more that we obey His will,
the more that we are rare.
Thus making us stand out amongst
Gods children everywhere.

So ask yourself, does it fully matter,
if the teachings "to you" ... are right?
for the act of obedience alone,
is what makes your star shine bright.

therefore, when standing before our God one day,
and your worth is measured thus.
Don't you want, more then anything,
to be a "Noble Spirit" he can Trust.

I love this one, definitely puts in perspective why we are really here, and gives feelings of peace towards why we have to follow rules that can sometimes be difficult to follow.

I have to say, the most passionate poets are often those with a strong spiritual appetite. When I've felt truly in love, and it has only ever happened once, I just knew there had to be a God, because no other feeling as pure as love could originate with anything else. I have learned a lot about the depth of love you have for this one person in your life, and to know that she encourages you to pray to God, well I can see why you love her.

    Keep it up
