Untitled 11.03.11

Shockingly enough I can't think of a title for this, so I'm open to suggestions.

Darling when you and I first met so long ago,
I looked at you as if you were the grandest thing ever.
Now when I look at you, I wonder if I was drunk or naive,
especially when I thought you were something so amazing.

When I thought you were that special one,
I used to forgive you like everything was so true.
Now I just laugh at how you had me so fooled,
especially when I seen the lipstick on your collar.

It's been so long since I let you play me so well,
now it'd be the first time I've seen you in years.
This time I'm going to keep on walking by,
just as I should have done so long ago.

Darling when I walked out of your life that day,
I felt more confident and beautiful than I ever had.
I'm still smiling at how I felt when your mouth fell wide open,
you couldn't seem to comphrend anything I said.

When I thought you were going to always be speechless,
you followed me out the door as if you were a scolded puppy.
You honestly thought after knowing about five other girlfriends,
I'd stand by you and say, "oh baby, I know they were just friends."

It's been so long since I was naive enough to think,
you'd actually try to win me back over, but there you are.
Once again following me around like the dog you are,
and hoping I'll even glance your way and throw you a bone.

    Love this :)

    Maybe a title could be
    "lipstick on your collar"
    or
    "Following the past"

I love love this poem :)
Showing finally you got over him, put your foot down & walked away with no more chances :). Then how hes coming back to you, hoping you'll look back around.

    Amazing Job :)
