Replaying our memories in my head,
thinking about all the good times we had,
remember you laughing when i did something silly,
grabbing my face saying baby you are the one,
a smile growing across my face,
reminiscing about what we used to be.
My heart starts racing faster and faster,
as my smile slowly starts to fade,
all the pain coming back to my mind,
reminding me why we aren't together,
telling me don't you dare go back to that,
you know the outcome will be the same.
How did everything we had go down the drain?
Didn't we promise to be together for a lifetime?
Carved our marriage initials into our wrists,
kiss each other with such passion,
letting nothing & nobody get in between us,
overcame so much stuff its crazy.
Replaying our memories in my head,
looking at the good and the bad,
smiling, then crying, then pushing it away,
not letting myself think about what we were,
taking a deep breath knowing it will be okay,
if we are meant to be it'll happen,
needing to let fate take its course,
but also knowing we still love one another.
