You Meant Everything To Me

by TheGirlSittingAllByHerself   Nov 4, 2011

I remember the days,
When you'd put your arm around me,
And smile at me with those big brown eyes,
What happened to those days?
Are they now forever,
Out of my reach?

What happened to the days,
When you'd hold my hand,
In front of everyone?
I miss those days, you know,
I miss everything about them.

And although you think,
I'm much better off,
Without you,
Well, you're wrong.
You thought you were hurting me,
But don't you realize how much,
You're hurting me now?

Boy, you meant everything to me,
You were my life,
And then out of nowhere,
You rip everything that made me happy,
Out of my fragile hands,
And left before you could,
Watch me fall apart.

And after you did I had no choice,
But to slowly collect,
The pieces of my broken heart and,
Ever-so carefully,
Glue them back together again.
All without the help of what,
I thought was my Everything.

And although I've moved on,
I still remember,
Everything we once were,
And I still remember,
How you made me feel like,
I was the most happiest girl,
On earth.

Great job explaining your emotions...I know how hard it is to put back the broken remains of your heart.
    Love this poem, 5/5.
