Little Red Riding Hood

Just thought I would drop by to let you know I read this poem again, and remember reading it from a few years ago!

I still really like this poem, the message is so strong the vulnerable child is so young and innocent and this really shows. You describe so well how there were other people around, but no one could stop this evil thing from happening.

I think another powerful thing about the poem is how silent the girl stayed. A very realistic account of abuse, and how fear overpowers any other instinct that others may think will kick in first!

I also think there is a lot of power in your ending, that you may look like you are ready to kill, and feel so angry, and others might believe this, but they have no idea that you would rather die than kill. That the affect of what happened did not leave you, but stayed inside you and let this anger grow, and in my experience, it learns to grow against yourself and not others.

Argh, I just love this piece! The fact you have taken this cartoon character, who plays a bad guy, and made him into your own bad guy, is very creative. Straight away no one likes the wolf.

For me this poem was the journey of an abused child. You told it very well and the stages of her journey as the child, the teenager, then the adult she is today which survived that childhood and decided to become something better than the roads perhaps others choose more often.

Very good idea using a well known character to relate to, it worked very well, as did the big bad wolf for the abuser.

In the 3 parts, you are talking about three different red riding hoods?

If my interpretation is right, then I really would like to applaud for you!!

In the first part, about the famous red riding hood, in the stories for children.

In the second part, about Amanda Seyfried? who played the role of red riding hood in the movie.

In the third part, about you? or even someone you know...? maybe your daughter.. or I don't know, someone in the real life!!
