Sparks Fly

by Jeremy S Farley   Nov 6, 2011

Spewed forth from the fires of industry
Volcanic river flows endlessly as
The furnace rages and
The pistons hammer, ceaseless

Steam engine churning
In blinding arc and weld-track scars
Soldiers are born from the mold
Their vaporous birth cries blue gray

Forged by will in raining embers
Sparks fly as pawns change form
Molded to the masters purpose
An army of iron marches dutifully

So like them we are
Labeled, stamped, and formed in ranks
Cast into the human sea
All part of the great machine

Fulfilling the dreams of gods

I loved this, I really did, it was kind of original. The last line made it all for me. Claps.
