Third Choice

by Meme   Nov 6, 2011

September, just take me
away with you, don't leave
me here battling the days
on my own.

Wrap me around your autumn
leaves, let me feel the warmth
of your afternoons, but don't bid
me a farewell yet, October.

I have already squirreled away
my heart, only to find myself
hanging by a thread between your
heaven and his hell.

Then again, I fall in between those
two extremes, I am supposed to
choose between you two. But who
said there is no third choice?

Wow! I'm in love with this poem! I loved the way you integrated the months September and October, and the descriptions, like about the autumn leaves and how you squirreled away your heart... beautifully constructed poem with amazing word choice! You blew me away with this poem, as you usually do! =)
