Loving, Holding, and Helping

by Alicia   Jun 24, 2004

You fall and I run to help you
You lie but I forgive
You feel pain and I comfort you
I help to make you want to live.
I hold you in my arms
I never want you to leave.
I will keep you away from harm
But have to keep my heart on my sleeve.
I cry at night for you
I sit down and I pray
For God to give you the strength
To go through each day.
I know you have so many problems
I just want you to be okay.
I love you with all of my heart
And to see you hurting hurts me.
I hope that will we never part
Because you'd cause so much controversy.
I know you love me back
Its just hard for it to be shown
Because i know
Love you have never known.
Its OK if you have to let go
I will understand
I just want you to be all you can be
And grow up to be a the best that you can.

~The person in this poem didn't give life a chance so we'll never know if he grew up to be the best that he could.~
