Love Me or Release Me

by BlueAngel   Nov 7, 2011

Let me fall
let me bleed
let me believe the lie,
but never bring to me
your words of goodbye.
Let me silently die as every word
slices through my skin,
as my heart retreats farther into my chest
let me breathe my last and be lost in all the rest.
Release my spirit if you refuse
to give me peace,
release my soul if you
cant give me what i need,
stand there no longer silent
as darkness uses me to feed.
I'm throwing down my weapons
I'm letting myself go,
This so-called war is killing me
while your memories drown you in unrelenting snow.
Either come out of the darkness and into the light,
Or I'll follow you into it in a permanent plight.
If you don't care enough to fight for my heart,
then stop standing their watching it fall apart.
Fight for me or let me die,
For I'll take death over a final goodbye.

    First of all excellent title. I can see you picked it with care. It really draws the reader to the poem.

    but never bring to me
    your words of goodbye."

    ^ You start was my favorite part of the poem.

    As for the rest of the poem I really enjoyed the read
