Blue wolf

by xx stacy xx   Nov 7, 2011

Through the trees he lurks alone
never to be seen, but always known

one day he wondered from the path
now to face the demons wrath

troubled thoughts filled with pain
but the truth will still remain

look into his darkened eyes
and you'll see there are no lies

within their sarrow you see his fear
but he wont let them cry a tear

to all his pack he will stay true
as he fades to a crimpson blue

This is a very sad, poem, though a wolf is not symbolic of sadness, only his prey is. So one wonders, why is wolf here portraying an antithesis of his character. A wolf's eyes are never blue, they are red, green, blue and devilish to stare in to.

There is power in poetry that projects an antithesis, so I will have to bow my head here, as I failed to understand the deeper meanings. A 5/5 for the composition, the portrayal of emotions and the near perfect flow.
